What Are We Talking About When We Say “Heavy Metals'?
Mercury, Aluminum, Arsenic, Lead, Thallium, Copper, X Metals, Cadmium are the most widely understood---and feared.
Heavy Metals "refers to a range of high-density metals, often resulting from industrial processes, such as mercury, lead or cadmium, which can enter the food chain and, in certain concentrations and over the long term, cause serious diseases, generally in the nervous or blood system."
Heavy Metal Poisoning is determined by the concentration of the heavy metal substance in the body. There are no comprehensive blood tests to measure heavy metals. The best way is to test the hair, urine or saliva.
There are home test kits for the urine and/or saliva.
The National Geographicpaid for David Ewing Duncan, an investigative journalist, to be tested to see how many toxic substances a typical American accumulate.
Duncan says “The tests are too expensive for most individuals—National Geographic paid for mine, which would normally cost around $15,000—and only a few labs have the technical expertise to detect the trace amounts involved....
Now I'm learning more than I really want to know.
...Last fall I had myself tested for 320 chemicals I might have picked up from food, drink, the air I breathe, and the products that touch my skin—my own secret stash of compounds acquired by merely living. It includes older chemicals that I might have been exposed to decades ago, such as DDT and PCBs; pollutants like lead, mercury, and dioxins; newer pesticides and plastic ingredients; and the near-miraculous compounds that lurk just beneath the surface of modern life, making shampoos fragrant, pans nonstick, and fabrics water-resistant and fire-safe.
...even though many health statistics have been improving over the past few decades, a few illnesses are rising mysteriously. From the early 1980s through the late 1990s, autism increased tenfold; from the early 1970s through the mid-1990s, one type of leukemia was up 62 percent, male birth defects doubled, and childhood brain cancer was up 40 percent. Some experts suspect a link to the man-made chemicals that pervade our food, water, and air. There's little firm evidence. But over the years, one chemical after another that was thought to be harmless turned out otherwise once the facts were in.
The classic example is lead. In 1971 the U.S. Surgeon General declared that lead levels of 40 micrograms per deciliter of blood were safe. It's now known that any detectable lead can cause neurological damage in children, shaving off IQ points. From DDT to PCBs, the chemical industry has released compounds first and discovered damaging health effects later. Regulators have often allowed a standard of innocent until proven guilty in what Leo Trasande, a pediatrician and environmental health specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, calls "an uncontrolled experiment on America's children."
Mother Nature, The Healer
Mother Nature is amazing. To deal with a toxic environment she makes zeolite.
In Her infinite wisdom. Mother Nature has provided a way for nature to trap toxic substances, (like heavy metals) that occurnaturally in the cycle of things. Most pollutants in our environment are positively charged, causing havic much like free radicals do in our bodies. To offset this, Mother Nature caused volcanic erruption to nulify pollution by forming a substance called zeolite when the lava hits sea water. This cause a porious rock to be formed so light it will float in water. And ,wouldn' t you know it, it becomes negatively-charged! Mother Nature is so smart!
This negatively-charged mineral is honeycombed with pores that attract and trap the positively-charged toxic heavy metals, chemicals, and pollutions created in nature. Nature ALWAYS creates Her own checks and balances.
The problem is, we, mankind, has upset the balance of nature by creating man-made pollution without creating a cleansing process to accompany it. Thus,... our polluted world. ---Not just in nature, but in our bodies.
Understanding Heavy Metal Poisoning and Zeolite
What is Zeolite?
- A precious mineral created through a chemical reaction when sea water mixes with volcanic lava.
- A unique, honeycomb-shaped negative-charged cage is created that attracts and traps positively-charged particles---like heavy metals. Zeolite is one of the few negatively-charged minerals found in nature.
Powdered or crushed zeolite has been used for years in air and water purification, agriculture and in medicine to absorb toxic odors and contaminants.
Biochemical and Biomedical have studied zeolite for several decades because of its toxin trapping properties There are different kinds of zeolite, however. Herculaneum, clinoptilolite and chabazite
Their use has been in detoxicants, decontaminants, and antibacterial agents. Zeolite is also used as the timed-released agent in drugs, anti-diarrheal agents, and the hemodialysis to improve bone formation.
It's value has been long established. It's limitation has ben that it only works in the digestive track.
Biochemists have now learned how to crush zeolite small enough to be suspended in water, making it available to the cells of the body. Now these toxin sucking properties can be applied to detox the soft tissue! This is HUGE.
Why is this so important? Because we know that heavy metals lodge in the body tissue and, until now, we haven't been able to budge it. Thus, the buildup of heavy metals in our bodies to the poisoning level. The thing that is so alarming is that analysis show children--including infants--show higher concentrations of heavy metals than adults! For documentation of that statement let me refer you to that National Geographic article by Duncon and Body Burden: the Pollution In Newborns, by the Environment Watch Group. It is alarming.
Now For The Good News In Heavy Metal Poisioning
Called liquid zeolite, this suspended zeolite enters the body through the bloodstream and is able to pull (attract) the heavy metals from our bodies including the brain. You can pay a little or a lot for a liquid zeolite. I found one that I think is affordable and good. It is called "Liquid Pure".
Have you been concerned with the amount of ADD, Autism, OCD and Depression cases there are in children? These are all connected to heavy metal poisoning. These conditions are not just increasing in children either. Adults are now being diagnosed more and more often with these same disorders.
I'm not going to go into this any further at this time, because this hub is long enough. Suffice it to say. Liquid zeolite is showing very promising in helping these conditions...and many more.
